Anyone else think it was strange how the writing was in English rather than Japanese?

i’d like to see a magical girl series where the transformation trinket is an ipod or an mp3 player.

I don’t understand why everyone either wants to paint the Puella Magi as ‘absolutely selfless and wonderful’ or ‘completely flawed and beyond redemption’. They go both ways! The characters I’ve seen this happen to the most are Sayaka and Homura.

Kamichama Karin is too cute for its own good. The manga especially. I could barely take the series seriously because of this. I’m not saying I hate the series; I’m just saying that it’s kawaii overdose. There’s a limit to how cute something can be.

Thanks to a certain Madoka parody on YouTube, whenever I rewatch the series and Homura comes onscreen, Linkin Park songs immediately fly into my head. I must say, though, it has made the show more entertaining.

There should be more non action oriented magical girl anime like Full Moon wo Sagashite. Not all magical girl have to be about a magical girl fighting something “evil.” The closest one I can think of (that isn’t a magical girl) but could have worked if it were is La Corda D’oro.

I have watched The Rebellion Story 12 times so far and I have discovered so much. So much. I know what nearly all of the symbols mean. I know each and every one of the characters like my family. I can recite every song from the OST off my head. I have an entire plot for a sequel to this film devised from all of the foreshadowing in act 4. I could easily write a thesis on this film. I want to talk about it so much, but no-one talks to me about it. I need people to talk to me about this film.

I get a bit confused why people don’t like the Outer Senshi, but I just completely can’t understand why some people seem to hate them so much! They barely show up in fan art, merchandise, and even official art, and I rarely see anyone cosplaying them. I can understand dislike for a character, but what reasons could you possibly have for hating characters that barely show up or get any attention? They show up rarely compared to the Inner Senshi, so isn’t that enough to calm you down?

Revolutionary Girl Utena was my second Magical Girl. I didn’t even know it was a Magical Girl until my early teens.

It warms my heart that in Petite Princess Yucie, Yucie could feel a part of her missing when her friends had her memories of them erased so that she doesn’t feel sad when they disappeared. It showed me that friendship is a part of who you are and you aren’t complete without your friends.

People emphasize way too much about the “weaponized feminity” aspect of magical girls and not enough on its post-modern subversion on esoteric thought and mysticism, particularly those on the occult scene, into a narrative exclusively about women and their stories.
